Happy Days

Dear Pops,

Keeping track of our happiest moments has really made me see how lucky we all are and how much beauty can be found in even the most ordinary or unexpected of moments.

This weeks happiest moment came at the strangest of times but couldnt have been more perfect.

This week was your great grandads funeral. We decided to not bring you to the service but you came to the wake.

(Doesnt sound like Im setting up for a happiest moment, but stay with me.)

There were nearly 200 people at the funeral, such an amazing turn out, but so much sadness in one room.

Then you walked in. Our little sunshine.

Running round smiling and laughing, seeking out all your favourite people. Especially your grandad.

Your grandad loves you so so much, and seeing you laughing, playing and running to find him really made him smile.

Before long you were on the dancefloor, so unaware of the somber mood of the occassion. You got people dancing with you and others smiling and laughing at you.

You helped turn the mood of the wake into a true celebration of your great grandads life. So innocent and unaware of the dramatic impact you had on the day.
And i couldnt have been more proud or pleased.

You really are our little ray of sunshine.

I love you Pops,
